In a statement from the governorship, it was noted: "May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day was celebrated in Istanbul with organized events. 35,000 people participated in the celebrations organized by the Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions of Turkey and its components at Kadıköy Rıhtım Square. Additionally, 30,000 people participated in the celebrations organized by the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions and its components at Kartal Square.
52,656 PERSONNEL ON DUTY
No negative incidents occurred during the authorized celebrations, and participants dispersed without any issues. A total of 52,656 security personnel were on duty on May 1 to implement the measures taken for the peace and security of Istanbul.
POLICE OPERATIONS CONTINUE
Groups wishing to carry out illegal actions and demonstrations outside the celebration areas permitted by our governorship were not allowed. In this context, 384 individuals who gathered to hold unauthorized demonstrations were detained. The security procedures for these individuals are ongoing."
