The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has taken new steps to strengthen the institutional framework in the fight against the informal economy. With a decision published in the Official Gazette, the General Directorate of Risk Analysis has been affiliated with the Revenue Administration (GİB), while the consecutive announcements for personnel recruitment have led to comments that inspections will become stricter.
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has stepped up its fight against the informal economy. In this context, the steps taken yesterday and today, including changes in the organizational structure and the employment of new personnel, have drawn attention.
RISK ANALYSIS GENERAL DIRECTORATE ATTACHED TO GİB
In order to increase institutional capacity in the fight against informality, the Risk Analysis General Directorate has joined forces with the Revenue Administration. With the decision published in the Official Gazette, changes were made in the ministry's organizational structure, and the Risk Analysis General Directorate, which is affiliated with the ministry, was incorporated into GİB.
655 REVENUE ASSISTANTS TO BE RECRUITED TO GİB
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, 655 revenue assistants will be recruited to GİB to be assigned in Istanbul. It was stated that preliminary applications for the exam will be accepted between January 14-21, 2026, and final applications will be accepted between February 2-5, 2026.
It was noted that the written exam will be conducted electronically on March 7, 2026, at the ÖSYM e-Exam Center in Ankara. Candidates who succeed in the written exam will be called for the oral exam.
5 ASSISTANT INSPECTORS FOR THE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT
It was also announced that 5 assistant inspectors will be recruited to be employed within the Ministry's Inspection Department. Applications will be made electronically through e-Government or Career Gate between January 12-23, 2026.
It was reported that the written phase of the exam will be held in Ankara on March 28-29, 2026, and candidates who succeed in the written exam will be called for the oral exam.
INCREASE IN INSPECTIONS EXPECTED
The attachment of the Risk Analysis General Directorate to GİB and the subsequent announcements of personnel recruitment are evaluated as the ministry's goal to increase its inspection and analysis capacity in the fight against informality. Following the steps taken, an increase in inspections is expected.
