325 PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR PRAISING CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated the details of the operation in a statement on his social media account: "Today, in our operations targeting individuals who praise criminal organizations and share armed content through social media platforms across our country, we have apprehended 325 suspects.

As a result of the efforts coordinated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the EGM KOM Department; the suspects apprehended by the Provincial Police Departments' KOM Branches were found to have made posts praising crime and criminals, threats, insults, and propaganda for organizations through their social media accounts. It was determined that they aimed to announce their organizational activities through social media posts, attempted to transfer enmity and competition between criminal organizations to social media platforms, and tried to recruit new members for the organization by using social media as a tool. Investigations have been initiated against them by our prosecutors.

WEAPONS SEIZED

As a result of the operations, 41 unlicensed handguns, 36 shotguns, 25 converted blank-firing pistols, and 1 AK-47 rifle were seized.

We are resolutely continuing our fight against crime and criminals to ensure peace and stability in every region of our country. I congratulate those who contributed."
