Sudan declared the United Arab Emirates an "aggressive state" and severed diplomatic relations, accusing it of supporting the Rapid Support Forces, which are in conflict with the country's armed forces in the ongoing civil war since April 2023.
Sudan has severed diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
UAE DECLARED 'AGGRESSOR STATE'
The Sudanese Defense Council stated that it has decided to declare the UAE as an "aggressor state," emphasizing that it reserves the right to respond to any aggression in order to protect Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
ALL DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS WILL BE CLOSED
The Defense Council described the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are fighting against the country's armed forces in the ongoing civil war, as the UAE's proxy, announcing that Sudan's ambassador to the UAE will be recalled and all diplomatic missions will be closed.
SUDAN ACCUSES UAE OF INVOLVEMENT IN CIVIL WAR, UAE DENIES
Sudan accuses the UAE of being involved in the civil war that has been ongoing in the country since April 2023 and of supporting the RSF. Sudan recently accused the UAE of providing advanced and strategic weapons to the RSF during an attack on the port city of Port Sudan. The UAE, however, denies allegations of providing financial, military, and political support to the RSF.
