The Minister of Culture and Tourism, who attended the opening ceremony in Manisa, recalled in his speech that the Turkey Culture Road Festival started in 2021 in Istanbul Beyoğlu, stating, "We made a promise that day. We said this first step would reach every region of our country. Today, we are proud to fulfill this promise."
"WE HAVE CREATED A BRAND VALUE WHERE ALL BRANCHES OF ART EMBRACE OUR PEOPLE"
Emphasizing that the main purpose of the festival is to preserve, support, and bring Turkey's history, culture, and art to a wider audience, the Minister noted that millions of citizens have encountered art and culture through these festivals over the past five years. Stating that they have created a structure that appeals to all segments of society, away from elitist understandings, the Minister said, "We have created a brand value where all branches of art embrace our people."
This year, in addition to Mardin, Malatya, and Kayseri, Manisa has also taken its place among the festival cities. The Minister stated, "The historical and cultural heritage of Manisa will add unique value to the Turkey Culture Road Festival brand. We want to give back by embellishing this beautiful city with culture and art."
520 EVENTS AT 33 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS
As part of the festival, 520 events will be held at 33 different locations in Manisa. The program will include concerts, opera and theater performances, film screenings, exhibitions and discussions, children's activities, workshops, and seminars. These events, prepared in a wide range from traditional arts to digital applications, will offer participants an experience intertwined with art.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism invited all the people of Manisa and art lovers to be an active part of the festival, stating, "We will make this festival more meaningful with a crowd that experiences and produces together, rather than just watching."
