Palestinian Ethem al-Safedi, who lost his 40-day-old baby due to malnutrition and hunger in the Gaza Strip, which has been driven to starvation by Israel, said, "Forget about us adults; if the whole world cannot send a box of formula to Gaza, we will all die."

The number of people dying from hunger and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip is increasing every day due to Israel's strict blockade that restricts humanitarian aid. Yusuf Muhammed es-Safedi, who was only 40 days old in the northern Gaza Strip, is one of those who died from hunger and malnutrition due to the unavailability of baby formula and supplementary foods.

Yusuf's father, Ethem es-Safedi, made a statement while holding his deceased baby. Safedi said, "The baby was 40 days old. There is no baby formula, mothers' milk has dried up, there is no bread, there is no food." The grieving father pointed to Israel's obstruction of humanitarian aid, stating, "All of this is due to our being under blockade and the border gates being closed."

"WE HAVE BECOME INCAPABLE OF MEETING ANY OF OUR NEEDS"

Safedi stated, "We are suffering from famine; we cannot find formula for our children, food for our women. We have become incapable of meeting any of our needs." He emphasized that the attacks on Gaza are not being stopped and that Israel is being supported, saying, "The whole world is against the Gaza Strip."

"NO ARAB COUNTRY HAS HELPED US"

Regarding the inability to deliver aid to Gaza, Safedi said, "No Arab country we called for help has been able to assist us. We called on all Arab leaders, but no one can help us, and no one can do anything for us." The Palestinian father stated, "We had asked for formula to give to our babies, our baby died; because there isn't even a carton of formula. Every baby, every child is at risk of death."

Safedi expressed, "Forget about us adults; if the whole world cannot send a box of formula to Gaza, we will all die. Because we adults are not in a position to bring food here."

"YOUNG PEOPLE GOING AND RETURNING IN SHROUDS"

The Palestinian father, stating, "We are in a general famine," emphasized that there is no option other than delivering formula for babies, lamenting their helplessness. Safedi said, "Young people and adults go to aid distribution centers to find food, but they are giving their lives. They go on foot and return in shrouds."

The grieving Palestinian father remarked, "Every day, 100-150 martyrs are coming to the hospitals due to the famine we are experiencing. Enough of this oppression and suffering that is being inflicted on us."

"A CHILD DIES EVERY DAY"

Safedi stated, "We no longer have the strength to speak, we cannot stand on our feet." The grieving father said, "A child dies every day, and the others are at risk of death. There is nothing to eat or drink." Palestinian father Safedi, while maintaining his composure and trust in Allah despite their situation, said, "Allah is sufficient for us; He is the best disposer of affairs."

GAZA IS "DYING OF HUNGER"

The Gaza Strip, under Israeli attacks and a strict blockade that restricts humanitarian aid, is experiencing a humanitarian disaster where hunger is spreading, and water, medicine, medical supplies, and hygiene products are unavailable. Deaths due to hunger are increasing in the Gaza Strip, especially among children.

The number of people who have died from hunger in the Gaza Strip, under Israeli attacks and blockade, has risen to at least 88, including 78 children. Local and international circles state that Israel is using "hunger and thirst as a weapon." The Israeli army, which has destroyed 88% of Gaza's infrastructure, frequently targets Palestinians who have been displaced by expulsion orders in the areas where they seek refuge.

In Gaza, with a population of approximately 2.3 million, the number of those displaced by Israeli attacks and expulsion orders has reached 2 million, with many people being displaced multiple times.

Displaced Palestinians, lacking basic materials, are trying to survive in makeshift tents or in overcrowded schools where hygiene supplies are lacking, and even toilets are insufficient, leading to the spread of infectious diseases. The Israeli army bombards the tents and civilian locations where the displaced are sheltering with daily attacks.

Since October 7, 2023, at least 59,029 Palestinians have lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip, and 142,135 people have been injured.
