Due to snowfall and icing in the Bolu Mountain section of the D-100 highway, the road was closed to traffic because of a sliding truck that swerved. Vehicles are being redirected to the Anadolu Highway from the Elmalık area by traffic teams. Road crews are continuing snow plowing and salting operations along the route.
The Anadolu Highway Bolu transition towards Istanbul, which was closed to traffic due to a truck's jackknifing, has been reopened after the works, while the D-100 highway towards Istanbul is closed to vehicle traffic as a result of the truck's jackknifing.
HIGHWAY REOPENED TO TRAFFIC, ROAD CLOSED
A truck traveling in the Istanbul direction of the highway jackknifed on the slippery road due to snowfall. Upon notification, highway and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The teams closed the Istanbul direction of the highway between Bolu West Toll Booths and Abant Junction for the recovery of the jackknifed truck.
Drivers using the route were redirected from the West Junction to the D-100 highway. The Istanbul direction of the highway was reopened to vehicle traffic after the truck was recovered.
Meanwhile, due to the heavy snowfall continuing on Bolu Mountain, heavy-tonnage vehicles are not allowed to pass from the Ankara direction of the highway. Teams have closed the road to heavy-tonnage vehicles from the Üçköprü area of Kaynaşlı district in Düzce. Drivers are being redirected to a rest facility in the area.
JACKKNIFED TRUCK BLOCKED THE D-100
On the other hand, the Bolu Mountain section of the D-100 highway towards Istanbul was closed to traffic due to a truck jackknifing as a result of snowfall and icing. The jackknifed truck blocked the road in the Polisevi area of the D-100 highway, where snowfall is effective. Traffic teams, who set up a control point in the Elmalık area, are redirecting drivers from Abant Junction to the Anadolu Highway. Highway and traffic teams are continuing their efforts to open the road.
