EMPLOYERS' EXPECTATIONS FOR MINIMUM WAGE ARE CLEAR
Before the critical meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission scheduled for Friday, December 12, the expectations of the employer side have started to become clear.
In a study conducted by Loginsight research company with real sector managers, the minimum wage level anticipated by employers for 2026 has emerged. According to the study, the average minimum wage expectation of the business world for 2026 has been determined as 27,800 TL.
EXPECTATIONS FOR WELFARE INCREASE ARE WEAK
In the survey, the question "Will the minimum wage increase the welfare of employees in 2026?" was asked.
Participants' responses:
- 54.5% said the increase would not create real welfare,
- 36.6% answered "partially,"
- Only 8.9% said "yes."
These results indicate that the business world agrees that the expected increase in 2026 will have a limited impact on employees.
WHAT BALANCE IS IMPORTANT WHEN DETERMINING MINIMUM WAGE?
The responses to the question "What balance should be prioritized when determining the minimum wage?" were listed as follows:
- Employee welfare: 46.5%
- Combating inflation: 24.8%
- Employer cost balance: 10.9%
- Protection of employment: 8.9%
- Economic growth: 8.9%
The research reveals that employers prioritize the purchasing power of employees, but the concern for combating inflation is also strongly highlighted.
