The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality made a statement regarding the investigation permission granted for Mayor Mansur Yavaş and some municipal council members. The statement included the following: "The investigation in question was initiated to prevent irregular zoning increases that occurred during the term of Melih Gökçek."
The Ministry of Interior granted permission for an investigation to be conducted against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş and 38 council members on the grounds that they "did not implement the administrative court's decisions to annul zoning permits." The first statement from ABB regarding the issue has been released.
DETAILS OF MELİH GÖKÇEK THAT CAUGHT ATTENTION IN THE STATEMENT
In the statement made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, it was noted that some media outlets reported that the Ministry of Interior granted permission for an investigation against Mayor Mansur Yavaş and 39 Metropolitan Municipality Council Members.
The statement included the following remarks: "The truth is this: The investigation in question was initiated due to the prevention of irregular zoning increases made during the Melih Gökçek period. There is no irregular zoning increase in question. On the contrary, the decision to veto the irregular zoning increase granted to the Dodurga region is the subject of this investigation."
"THE SAME PUBLIC FINANCE INSPECTOR HAS ALSO BEEN INVOLVED IN THIS CASE
On the other hand, there are serious allegations regarding the public finance inspector involved in the investigation permission process, which have also been reflected in the public. This public finance inspector has previously been involved in other cases where investigation permission was granted against Mansur Yavaş, and it has been claimed that he discussed this matter with Melih Gökçek, leading to a criminal complaint filed against him by Mansur Yavaş. It has been understood that this public finance inspector is also involved in this case. All our legal objections are being made. A detailed explanation will be shared with the public after the objection process is completed."
In the municipality's statement, a video related to the unauthorized zoning increase in Çankaya Dodurga Neighborhood was shared, referred to as "Images of the potential consequences of the vetoed zoning increase."
