In Ankara, a fire broke out in an apartment on the upper floor of a 15-story building, resulting in the death of 38-year-old healthcare worker Cihat Ozan Sezgin. An investigation has been launched regarding the fire.

HEALTHCARE WORKER DIES IN APARTMENT FIRE
Cihat Ozan Sezgin, who worked as a healthcare officer at a private institution, lived alone in his apartment on the upper floor of a 15-story building in the Etimesgut district. A fire broke out for unknown reasons during the night. Neighbors, noticing the rapidly spreading flames, called the fire department. While the fire department intervened, the building was evacuated. Sezgin, who was trapped in the flames, was rescued by the firefighters. The fire was extinguished with the intervention of the fire department. Sezgin was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Severely injured, Sezgin lost his life.
"I TRIED TO WAKE EVERYONE UP"
Erol Ekici, one of the residents of the building, said, "I noticed a noise from outside at 02:38 AM. I could hear glass breaking. At first, I thought there was a burglary. When I looked up, I saw the fire. I went downstairs and knocked on the doors of the residents in the building, trying to wake everyone up. I woke the doorman, then activated the fire alarm. The fire department arrived very quickly. They carried our citizen out on a stretcher. I saw that CPR was being performed. He didn't look good; his face was covered in soot," he said. An investigation has been launched regarding the fire.
