Ali Osman Buzlak, who strangled his young wife in a car and placed her lifeless body in the trunk, stated in his testimony, "I suddenly grabbed her by the throat and squeezed it for a while. I don't remember how long I squeezed because I lost control, but I squeezed for a long time. When I released her throat, Hatice was dead; she collapsed."

The prosecutor's statement of Ali Osman Buzlak (21), who strangled his wife Hatice Agcakale Buzlak (24) with his hands in a car in Erzurum, has emerged.

The incident occurred on April 16 at around 22:00 in the garden of Erzurum City Hospital. Ali Osman Buzlak argued with his wife Hatice Agcakale Buzlak in a parked car in the garden. As the argument escalated, Ali Osman Buzlak strangled his wife with his hands in the car. Buzlak, who placed his wife's lifeless body, which he had secretly married on January 9 and was preparing for a wedding, in the trunk of the car, broke a soda bottle in the vehicle and cut his throat and wrists. After driving away, Buzlak was found motionless at the steering wheel in Murat Ellik Boulevard, Hüseyin Avni Ulaş Neighborhood, Palandöken district. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. While Ali Osman Buzlak was taken to Erzurum City Hospital, Hatice Agcakale Buzlak's lifeless body was found in the car. After his treatment was completed, Ali Osman Buzlak was arrested for the crime of 'intentional murder,' while Hatice Agcakale Buzlak was buried.

"WE CANCELLED THE WEDDING AND ENGAGEMENT LIKE THE END OF MARCH"

Ali Osman Buzlak's statement to the prosecutor has emerged. Stating that he met Hatice Agcakale Buzlak 3.5 years ago, Ali Osman Buzlak said, "On January 9, 2025, we officially got married without informing our families. About a month later, in February 2025, we told our families that we had married. We were living separately because we did not have a wedding. We were going to have an engagement at the end of February, but we had a small argument with Hatice. For this reason, Hatice's mother E.G. wanted to postpone the engagement, and we accepted. On March 5, 2025, Hatice filed for divorce. However, we talked later and reached an agreement. About a week later, Hatice withdrew from the lawsuit. We decided to have a wedding again. We planned to have the engagement on April 3, 2025, and the wedding on May 10, 2025. We also made the necessary preparations. Shopping was done. However, there were constant arguments between us. I wanted to live in my uncle's house after the wedding, but Hatice did not want to reside there. She wanted me to find apartments that I could not afford and rent them. I told her that the rents were high and that I would not pay. This led to constant arguments between us. We canceled the wedding and engagement around the end of March," he said.

"I DIVORCED HER BY SAYING 'DIVORCE' THREE TIMES"

Stating that he called Hatice Agcakale Buzlak one last time to talk on the day of the incident, but when she did not accept, he informed her mother about the situation, Buzlak noted: "After her mother convinced her, I met with Hatice. Since Hatice was studying in the social services department, she was interning at the City Hospital. We would usually sit in the car in the garden of the City Hospital when we talked. Therefore, after picking Hatice up from her home, I parked the car in the parking lot across from Block B of the City Hospital. It was probably around 20:00-20:30. We started chatting. We talked about events from our past. Then Hatice said, 'Divorce me, I don't want you anymore.' I said things like, 'Let's talk, okay, we can get divorced.' We chatted for about 1-2 hours. It was around 22:00. During the conversation, she told me, 'I cheated on you, why are you still keeping me in your marriage? I will continue to cheat, divorce me.' I was shocked when I heard this, and I divorced her religiously by saying 'divorce' three times. However, Hatice did not stop. She said, 'We got to this point because of your mother,' and she used vulgar words against my family and me for a long time."

"I TOLD THE POLICE THAT HATICE WAS IN THE TRUNK"

Ali Osman Buzlak continued in his statement, "When she started cursing, I lost control and suddenly grabbed her neck and squeezed it for a while. I don't remember how long I squeezed because I lost control, but I squeezed for a long time. Hatice tried to save herself by holding my face with her hands, but it was not very effective. Only scratches appeared on my face. When I released her neck, Hatice was dead; she was not breathing and collapsed. At that moment, a friend of mine called me, and I told him to come to me. After hanging up, I took Hatice from the front right seat where she was and put her in the trunk of the car. I locked the car and walked into the City Hospital through the entrance of Block C. I went to the emergency room. I waited for a while, and my friend came. We had a normal conversation. He said to me, 'You have something different, tell me.' I said, 'I killed Hatice, go report me.' I went back to the car. Overwhelmed by the regret and impact of what I had done, I broke a soda bottle in the car and cut my wrists and throat. I waited in the car for a while. During this time, I experienced trembling and faintness. Then, to regain my composure, I started the car and drove. I arrived at the place where the police found me, and when I got dizzy, I stopped. I was going to move again, but when the police arrived, I got out of the car and surrendered. I told the police that Hatice was in the trunk of the car. The police called an ambulance, took me to the hospital, and I received treatment. I feel regret for what happened. The incident occurred in a moment of anger. My intention was to talk," he said.
