The suspects who killed one person and injured the owner of a liquor store in the Kozan district of Adana were caught in an operation conducted in a mountain village within 28 hours. While four individuals, including those who assisted the suspects, were sent to the courthouse today, it was learned that the reason for the incident was their desire to buy alcohol on credit.
In the Kozan district of Adana, one person lost their life and the owner of the business was injured in an armed attack at a liquor store, and the suspects were quickly apprehended. The suspects who fled after the incident were detained in a mountain village following a 28-hour operation.
THEY OPENED FIRE WHEN THEIR REQUEST FOR CREDIT ALCOHOL WAS DENIED
The incident occurred the night before at a liquor store located on Örtülü Street in the Varsaklar neighborhood. According to allegations, S.K. and F.Y. came to the business to request credit alcohol. After the business owners denied their request, a dispute broke out between the parties. The argument quickly escalated into a knife fight. The business owner M.Ö. and his companion Mustafa Çomak were seriously injured. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to Kozan State Hospital by ambulances. Çomak, who was in critical condition, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital.
THEY FLED TO A MOUNTAIN VILLAGE
After the incident, the District Police Department teams launched a large-scale operation to capture the fleeing suspects. Following technical and physical surveillance, it was determined that the suspects had fled to the rural area of Ergenuşağı village, which is connected to the district.
POLICE AND GENDARMERIE SURROUNDED THE VILLAGE
Police and gendarmerie teams surrounded the village and conducted an operation. In the challenging terrain conditions, barns, rocky areas, and stony regions were searched one by one. Throughout the night, thermal cameras were used to prevent the suspects from escaping. In the operation, which involved many teams, S.K., who was found to be injured while fleeing, and F.Y., who was with him, were caught 28 hours after the incident. K.K. and V.K., who were determined to have assisted the suspects in their escape, were also detained.
THE DISTRICT POLICE CHIEF ALSO WENT TO THE FIELD
The operation personally managed by Kozan District Police Chief Fatih Alptekin was captured from the air. It was learned that the suspects had previously been in prison and were released about 4 months ago. The 4 suspects who were detained were sent to the courthouse under strict security measures after their procedures at the police station.
