The decision taken by the governor's office was communicated to the businesses selling imitation gold, and it was reported that those who do not comply with the decision will face an administrative fine of 2,953 lira.
Kütahya Jewelers and Watchmakers Association President Ali Eğce stated in a press release that the governor's office made such a decision due to the increase in complaints about attempts to defraud tradesmen with imitation gold, which is also known as fake gold among the public.
Thanking Governor Musa Işın and law enforcement officials for the decision, Eğce said, "Kütahya has become the first city in the country to make and implement this decision. This way, the fraud of our jeweler tradesmen will be prevented."
