The reason behind the incident in which Can Işıklar, the son of former Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Ahmet Fehmi Işıklar, killed his mother has been revealed. On the day of the incident, it was reported that the suspect arrived home at 5 AM and that his mother, Gülay Işıklar, woke up after hearing him arguing with his siblings. During the argument, she confronted her son, asking, "Why are you coming home at 5 AM?" It was during this dispute that Can Işıklar shot his mother.
Former MP Ahmet Fehmi Işıklar's (85) wife Gülay Işıklar (54) was shot and killed by his son Can Işıklar (28) with a gun.
The incident occurred in the Bağarası neighborhood of Foça district in İzmir, where Can Işıklar, the son of 85-year-old Fehmi Işıklar, a former deputy speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and a father of six, shot his mother Gülay Işıklar with a gun. Upon hearing the gunshots, the gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Medical teams confirmed that Gülay Işıklar had lost her life. The murder suspect, Can Işıklar, was detained by the gendarmerie and taken to the District Gendarmerie Command. It was learned that in his statement, Can Işıklar said he was arguing with his mother at the time of the incident and that the gun accidentally fired during a struggle while he was trying to take the gun from the table.
THE SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED
Can Işıklar was arrested for the crime of 'causing death by negligence' during his appearance before the judge and was sent to İzmir Şakran Prison.
CAME HOME AT 5 AM
It was learned that Can Işıklar had a strained relationship with his family due to an accident he had while intoxicated the day before the incident, and that he argued with his siblings Fırat and Dicle when he came home intoxicated at 5 AM on the day of the incident.

It was revealed that the mother, Gülay Işıklar, woke up upon hearing the noises and argued with her son, asking, "Why are you coming home at 5 AM?" during which Can Işıklar shot his mother.
