The U.S. Department of State has decided to transfer the Palestinian Affairs Office to its embassy in Israel.
WILL TRANSFER TO THE ISRAEL EMBASSY
U.S. Department of State Spokesperson Tammy Bruce announced the decision made by Secretary Marco Rubio. Accordingly, the Department of State will incorporate the Palestinian Affairs Office (OPA), which was opened in 2022 during former President Biden's administration and operates independently from the U.S. diplomatic mission in Israel, into the embassy.
Bruce noted that significant steps were taken during the first term of U.S. President Donald Trump to manage the U.S. diplomatic mission in Israel under a single roof, and that today's decision is consistent with that policy.
