Two friends in Bursa fell into a debt collection trap when they entered a beauty salon to help young people distributing brochures on the street. After signing a procedural document, the young women were confronted with debt collection files amounting to 22,000 and 25,000 Turkish lira. Finding the beauty salon empty, the victims reported that many others had been defrauded in the same way and requested assistance from the authorities.
Ceren Yıldız and Yağmur Kurt, who wanted to support the young people distributing brochures on Cumhuriyet Street in Bursa, entered a beauty salon to gather information. They were asked to sign a procedure paper for skin care. Later, the two friends, who were frequently called by phone and received an enforcement notice at their addresses four months later, stated that they did not sign any promissory notes and only wanted to obtain information. However, they were repeatedly called by the salon and pressured to make an appointment.
"WHILE TRYING TO DO GOOD, WE BECAME VICTIMS"
Ceren Yıldız, who was shocked by the enforcement notice that arrived months later, said, "While trying to do good, we became victims. They demanded 12 thousand lira, but it shows 22 thousand lira on e-Government. We learned that there are many victims."
"WE WANTED TO HELP, BUT WE ENCOUNTERED AN ENFORCEMENT FILE"
Yağmur Kurt stated, "We wanted to help the young people, but we encountered an enforcement file. It shows 25 thousand lira on my e-Government. At first, we were scared, but we gathered courage; other victims should also raise their voices."
DOOR WALL
The victims found the beauty salon they went to empty and learned from local tradespeople that many people had been defrauded in the same way. It was noted that the company's phones were constantly busy.
