According to the world-renowned gastronomy guide TasteAtlas, 7 flavors from Turkey made it to the "World's 100 Best Dishes" list. The local delicacy from Bodrum, Çökertme Kebabı, ranked 7th in the world, while Erzurum's Cağ Kebabı came in 9th.
TasteAtlas, one of the reference sources in the world of gastronomy, has published its report on the "Top 100 Dishes in the World," prepared with user votes and expert opinions. Turkish cuisine achieved significant success by placing two of its flavors in the top 10 of the list, which features 7 different dishes.
At the top of the list is Colombia's meat dish, Lechona. Italy's Pizza Napoletana took the second place, while Brazil's well-known barbecue flavor, Picanha, completed the list in third place.
The dish that made the highest entry from Turkey to the world stage is Çökertme Kebab, which is associated with the Bodrum and Milas regions of Muğla. Prepared with matchstick-thin fried potatoes, marinated tenderloin, garlic yogurt, and tomato sauce, this dish was chosen as the 7th best dish in the world.
Erzurum's geographically marked product, Cağ Kebab, found its place at the 9th spot on the list. This kebab, cooked over wood fire on a horizontal skewer and made from specially marinated lamb meat, became the second representative of Turkish cuisine in the top 10.
