The Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK) 1st Chamber concluded its decisions on determining the new Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor and making changes in some positions during today's meeting, following the appointment of Akın Gürlek to the Ministry of Justice. After completing his legal education, Dönmez began his professional career as a Public Prosecutor, gaining field experience by serving in different regions from the early years of his career. Over time, he took on significant responsibilities within the judiciary through the roles he assumed in metropolitan courthouses.
In the early stages of his career, Fatih Dönmez served as a Public Prosecutor in Erdek and Silvan, actively participating in judicial investigations during this period. His service in various regions of Anatolia provided him with extensive practical and managerial experience.
ISTANBUL PERIOD
With his appointment to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in 2016, a new era began in Dönmez's career. The comprehensive cases handled in metropolitan courthouses and the heavy workload further advanced his professional experience.
Between 2021 and 2024, Dönmez held the positions of Bakırköy and Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, during which he became responsible for the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling Narcotics and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau and the Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau.
As of 2025, Dönmez was serving as the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor.
