In Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district, an 11-year-old child riding a scooter was caught under a moving truck while entering the street. The child, seriously injured, was taken to the hospital, while the horrifying moments were captured second by second on security camera. Witnesses to the accident said, "The child's feet were trapped under the truck. At first, he was unconscious, but later he started moving."
A terrible accident occurred yesterday at around 18:30 on Turgut Özal Boulevard in the Yakuplu neighborhood, Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul.
CHILD TRAPPED UNDER TRUCK, DRAGGED 2 METERS
According to the information obtained, 11-year-old Abulselam İ.W. entered the street from a side alley on a scooter. The speeding child went under the wheel of a moving truck. Citizens who heard the child's screams, after he was dragged about 2 meters, stopped the truck. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
TAKEN TO HOSPITAL, CONDITION SERIOUS
The seriously injured 11-year-old child was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The truck driver was taken to the police station to give his statement.
"THE CHILD'S FEET WERE STUCK UNDER THE TRUCK"
A local shopkeeper commenting on the accident said, "I was sitting in the shop. When I heard shouting, I looked up. The child's feet were stuck under the truck. His head was bleeding on the ground. Thank God his head didn't go in there; it hit the tire and bounced back. He was coming out of the side alley fast on his scooter. Thank God the truck's axles were raised, so he didn't get caught underneath. At first, he was unconscious. Later, he started moving."
"THE CHILD'S FACE WAS IN VERY BAD CONDITION"
A local resident who stated that the child was trapped under the truck said, "Brother, yesterday my friend's brother got stuck under a truck here. I don't know exactly. I was here. When I went to look, there was blood. The child's face was in very bad condition. An ambulance and police arrived. They took him away."
