10 MILLION LIRA FRAUD
Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Cyber Crimes Division, in work carried out under the coordination of the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, determined that 14 suspects in the central Yenişehir district had defrauded 126 people across the country of 10 million lira by calling them by phone over the internet in an organized manner.
13 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Teams that carried out a simultaneous operation to catch the suspects detained 13 suspects. It was determined that 1 suspect was abroad. During searches at the suspects' addresses, 24 mobile phones, 19 SIM cards, 1 laptop, and 446,200 TL believed to have been obtained from the crime were seized. A quantity of narcotic substances was also seized during the searches.
One of the suspects taken to the police station was released after giving a statement. It was reported that proceedings for the other 12 suspects are continuing.
