Speaking at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee, MHP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Kalaycı requested that inequalities between retirement pensions be eliminated through a gradual adjustment regulation, and called for the 2027 net minimum wage to be set above the hunger threshold.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman and Konya MP Mustafa Kalaycı made critical statements on working life and the social security system in his speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly Plan and Budget Committee. Drawing attention to the livelihood difficulties experienced by retirees, Kalaycı emphasized that a phased adjustment regulation should be made to eliminate inequalities in salaries.
CALL FOR ADJUSTMENT REGULATION FOR RETIREMENT PENSIONS Stating that a significant portion of retirees cannot make ends meet with their current pensions, Kalaycı said that the premium-pension balance must be re-established. Requesting a review of pension linking rates and the update coefficient, Kalaycı used the following statements: "Today, many retirees cannot make ends meet with the pension they receive and are experiencing livelihood difficulties. As the Nationalist Movement Party, we are of the view that a regulation that will increase retirement pensions and eliminate inequalities between retirement pensions by taking as basis the number of premium payment days and the amount of premiums paid should be made first. We consider it necessary to make a phased adjustment regulation that will eliminate inequalities between current retirement pensions by observing the premium-pension balance, and also to review the update coefficient and pension linking rates in the granting of retirement pensions."
MHP Deputy Chairman and Konya MP Mustafa Kalaycı HUNGER THRESHOLD EMPHASIS FOR THE 2027 MINIMUM WAGE Expressing that the net minimum wage to be applied in 2027 should be determined by taking into consideration the living conditions of employees, Kalaycı also emphasized metropolitan cities and included the following statements: "In determining the minimum wage to be applied in 2027, we are of the view that the net minimum wage should be raised above the hunger threshold by taking into account the livelihood conditions of employees, and that rent and transportation support should be provided to employees in metropolitan cities."
DEMAND FOR 7,200 DAYS IN BAĞ-KUR AND SOCIAL REFORMS Calling for the premium burden of small tradespeople and farmers to be alleviated, Kalaycı called for reducing the Bağ-Kur retirement premium day count from 9,000 to 7,200 and restructuring accumulated debts. Touching on other social security expectations in his speech, Kalaycı stated that civil servants promoted to the first degree should be given an additional indicator of 3,600.
He also proposed granting the right to retirement by providing premium support by the state in order to ensure the participation of housewives in the social security system.
