The National Women's Volleyball Team defeated Slovenia 3-1 in the second match of Group A of the Trendyol 2026 European Women's Volleyball Championship.
THE SULTANS CONTINUED WHERE THEY LEFT OFF
The match started with a balanced game, but as time progressed, Turkey took the lead with Vargas and finished the first set ahead 25-21, taking a 1-0 lead. In the second set, Slovenia scored against the crescent-star team with Pucelj, Sillah, and Planinsec. Maintaining their attacking rhythm against the National Team, Slovenia won the set 25-22 and brought the score to 1-1.
The third set began with a close game, but the national team went on a 6-0 run and made it 16-10, forcing Slovenia to take a timeout. Turkey maintained their point advantage, won the set 25-17, and made the score 2-1. Backed by fan support, the national team, effective at the net with Elif Şahin, also won the fourth set 25-16 and secured a 3-1 victory in the match.

With this result, the crescent-star team made it 2 out of 2. Slovenia, on the other hand, suffered their first defeat. Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ watched the national match from the sideline.
NEXT OPPONENT IS HUNGARY
In their third match of the Trendyol 2026 European Championship, the National Women's Volleyball Team will face Hungary tomorrow. The match, to be played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, will start at 19:00. The national team beat Latvia 3-0 in their first match of the tournament and Slovenia 3-1 in the second, making it 2 out of 2. In the championship groups, where 6 teams compete in 4 different groups, the teams finishing in the top 4 will advance to the round of 16.
