In the case of Şeref Kocabıyık, who was initially thought to have died in the fire on the date of the incident, reopened 12 years later, investigations by the Antalya Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau teams revealed that the victim's missing mobile phone was used after the incident.

MURDER SOLVED AFTER 12 YEARS

Following a detailed analysis of the base station and HTS records of Kocabıyık's mobile phone by a special team formed at the Homicide Bureau, 5 people were detained in recent days as part of the investigation. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced on his social media account that the murder of Şeref Kocabıyık was solved after 12 years, and the suspects were taken for a health check and then referred to the courthouse this morning after their statements at the Homicide Bureau.

3 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Of the 5 suspects referred to the courthouse in connection with the murder of Şeref Kocabıyık, A.H. and A.H. were released under judicial control, while İ.H., A.H., and M.A. were arrested and sent to prison. Police teams are continuing their efforts to capture R.A., who is wanted as a fugitive in connection with the incident.
