In Kayseri, a 17-year-old unlicensed driver who fled by ignoring the police’s “stop” warning was caught after a chase lasting about half an hour. The young person, fined a total of 335,000 TL for violating traffic rules, burst into tears upon hearing the amount. The driver, who expressed his sorrow with the words “All my work will be gone, my private tutoring money will be gone,” was tried to be calmed down by police teams.

In Kayseri, a 17-year-old driver who fled in a light commercial vehicle after failing to comply with a police stop order was issued a total administrative fine of 335,000 TL. The young man, who was only 4 days away from turning 18, could not hold back his tears when he learned the amount of the fine. The driver, who cried, saying, “My prep course money will be gone,” was tried to be calmed down by police teams.

HIS FLIGHT FROM POLICE LASTED ABOUT 30 MINUTES

The incident occurred on Talas Boulevard in Köşk Neighborhood of Melikgazi district. Y.K., who did not comply with the stop order of police teams conducting a road check, began to flee in the light commercial vehicle with license plate 38 AKA 417 that he was driving.

Police teams took action to catch the fleeing driver. After a pursuit lasting about 30 minutes, the suspect’s vehicle was stopped with a barricade set up on Mehmet Özhaseki Boulevard.

THE TRUTH EMERGED DURING THE DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECK

During identity and driver’s license checks of Y.K., who was taken out of the vehicle, it was determined that he had only 4 days left until he turned 18. It was also determined that the document in the driver’s possession was not sufficient for the class of vehicle he was driving.

Within the scope of the relevant articles of the Highway Traffic Law, a total administrative fine of 335,000 TL was imposed on the young driver.

Y.K., who learned the amount of the imposed fine, was overcome with grief and burst into tears. Addressing the police teams, the young man reacted with the words, “Brother, we had debt; all I earned will be gone. My cram school money will be gone.”

The driver, who was reported to have had a nervous breakdown, was tried to be calmed down by the intervention of police teams. The light commercial vehicle he used during the escape was taken to the parking lot by tow truck.
