According to the regulation published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, coins worth 5 TL have been put into circulation. The new coin features the motif of the Seljuk star and the logo of Turkey's Century on the front side.
According to the latest publication of the Official Gazette, the decision to release new coins with a nominal value of 5 Turkish Liras into circulation has been announced. The circulating coins feature a raised portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the inscription "Republic of Turkey," and the emblem "Turkey Century."
The Ministry announced that the money was printed. In the regulation published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, it was stated that coins with a value of 5 liras, specified by the characteristics, were printed by the General Directorate of Minting and Stamp Printing, which is affiliated with the ministry, in accordance with the Law on Minting and Commemorative Coins dated 28/5/1970 and numbered 1264.
The motifs on the money drew attention. On the front side of the new 5 TL coin, there is an eight-pointed star motif of the Seljuk period in the outer ring, and the repetition of this motif's outer contour. At the junction of the ring and the center, there is a crescent and star, and in the middle, there is the Turkey Century logo. To the left of this, there is the number '5', below it is the inscription 'TÜRK LİRASI' (Turkish Lira), and below the inscription is the year of printing. On the back of the coin, there is the relief of Atatürk and the inscription 'TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ' (Republic of Turkey) around it. The coins have a plain milled edge, a diameter of 28.15 millimeters, a thickness of 1.70 millimeters, and a weight of 8.25 grams.
