In an operation organized at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, foreign national S.M., who was determined to have brought drugs from abroad, was caught. During a medical examination, a total of 490 grams of methamphetamine in 50 capsules was removed from the suspect's stomach. After police procedures, S.M. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
In the operation organized at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, a foreign national courier carrying 490 grams of methamphetamine in 50 capsules in his stomach was caught. While the drug was seized after being removed in the hospital, the suspect was arrested.
OPERATION AT THE AIRPORT
Teams from the Izmir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Branch initiated work based on intelligence that narcotics would be brought by air from abroad.
Following technical and physical surveillance, the foreign national S.M., identified as having brought the drug into Turkey by swallowing it, was detained by police teams upon landing at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport.
50 CAPSULES REMOVED FROM HIS STOMACH
The suspect was taken to the hospital for an internal body examination.
During checks, many foreign objects were found in S.M.'s stomach. A total of 490 grams of methamphetamine were seized from 50 capsules removed through medical intervention.
The seized narcotics were confiscated, and the investigation into the incident was deepened.
ARRESTED
After completing procedures at the police station, S.M. was arrested by the court he was brought before at the courthouse and sent to prison.
