It has been reported that 51 attacks were carried out one after another on Saturday night in the cities of Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala in southern Thailand. In the incidents, in addition to arson, bomb and gun attacks were carried out, and public buildings, security systems, and vehicles were also targeted. Two women were injured in one explosion.

MOST OF THE ATTACKS WERE ARSON

According to the Bangkok Post, the Internal Security Operations Command, affiliated with the Thai army, made a statement regarding the attacks in the south of the country.

The statement noted that a total of 51 attacks were recorded in the cities of Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala on Saturday night. It was stated that most of the incidents were arson, and it was reported that in addition to bomb and gun attacks, damaging public property and stealing public vehicles were also among the attacks.

MARKETS AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS TARGETED

It was reported that in the attacks in Pattani and Yala, markets, municipal buildings, security cameras, and base stations were targeted.

It was noted that some public vehicles were damaged or stolen in the attacks, and it was recorded that the attackers scattered iron nails on the roads to disrupt transportation.

ROADSIDE BOMB EXPLODED

In the Muang district of Narathiwat city, two women were injured as a result of the explosion of a bomb placed on the roadside.

While detailed information about the health condition of the injured was not shared, it was stated that security measures in the region had been increased.

IT IS UNCLEAR WHO CARRIED OUT THE ATTACKS

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks, which targeted numerous locations. The investigation by Thai security forces into the incidents is ongoing.
