580 people detained on May 1 in Istanbul have been released

In Istanbul, police intervened against groups wanting to hold an unauthorized march on May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day. 580 people detained across the province have been released.

May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day was celebrated with various programs held at Kadıköy Pier and Kartal Squares, while groups gathered at some points in the province attempted to march without permission. 

Police teams taking security measures in Istanbul warned the groups attempting to march without permission to disperse. However, when the protesters ignored the warnings and continued to march with slogans, they faced police intervention. It was learned that a total of 580 people were detained across the province. 

The detained individuals were taken to the police station in police vehicles. After the procedures, 580 people were released.
