72-month installment opportunity for tax debts! Applications end today

31.08.2026 07:10

The application period for taxpayers who wish to pay their tax debts through deferral and installment plans ends today. Within the scope of applications that can be made until the end of business hours on August 31, VAT debts can be paid in up to 12 installments, while other debts in this scope can be paid in up to 72 installments. Collateral will not be required from those with debts up to 10 million lira. The final payment date for the first installment will be September 30, 2026.

Taxpayers who wish to pay their tax debts through deferral and installment plans are entering a critical period. Those who want to benefit from the practice carried out by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Revenue Administration must complete their applications by the end of business hours on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Within the scope of the regulation, certain public receivables can be tied to a payment plan and paid in installments.

WHICH DEBTS CAN BE INSTALLED?

The practice covers certain public receivables that were due as of June 5, 2026, but were not paid by June 16, 2026.

Deferral and installment opportunities are available for income and corporate taxes, VAT, fees, judicial fines, traffic fines, ecrimisil (unauthorized use compensation), and student loan (KYK) debts.

Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and temporary taxes related to 2026 income and corporate taxes, however, will be excluded from the practice. Stamp taxes on these taxes, tax loss penalties, and delinquency interest will also not be deferrable.

INSTALLMENT OPPORTUNITY UP TO 72 MONTHS

Debts covered under the scope excluding VAT can be paid in installments for up to 72 months. For VAT debts, the maximum installment period will be 12 months.

An annual deferral interest rate of 29 percent will be applied to deferred debts.

NO COLLATERAL REQUIRED UP TO 10 MILLION LIRA

Taxpayers with a total debt amount not exceeding 10 million lira will not be asked for collateral during deferral and installment procedures.

If the debt amount exceeds 10 million lira, collateral must be provided equivalent to half of the amount above this threshold.

NO NEED TO GO TO THE TAX OFFICE FOR APPLICATION

Taxpayers can also make their applications electronically. Transactions can be carried out through the Revenue Administration website, the Digital Tax Office, and e-Government.

Through the system, taxpayers can view their debts covered under the deferral scope and apply for a payment plan that suits them.

DEADLINE FOR FIRST INSTALLMENT IS SEPTEMBER 30

Taxpayers whose applications are accepted must pay their first installments by September 30, 2026. Subsequent installments must be paid on the dates specified in the payment plan.

If at most two installments are missed within a calendar year, the deferral conditions may continue. If more than two installments are missed, the installment plan will be canceled.
