The Law Proposal on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration was enacted with 467 votes in favor in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. In the critical vote, it was noteworthy that AK Party deputies Tuğrul Türkeş, Kürşad Zorlu, İsmail Emrah Karayel, Ahmet Ersagun Yücel, Sami Çakır, Tahir Akyürek, Bülent Tüfenkçi, and Lütfi Bayraktar were not present.
The Proposal for the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration was accepted and enacted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly after marathon discussions lasting 12 hours. Notably, 8 deputies from the AK Party did not participate in the vote, and the distribution of votes among parties has also become clear.
12-HOUR MARATHON CONCLUDED WITH A VOTE
The TBMM General Assembly convened yesterday at 11:00 under the chairmanship of TBMM Deputy Speaker Celal Adan and brought the regulation, known publicly as the "framework law," to the table. Throughout the intensive session lasting approximately 12 hours, the articles of the bill were discussed one by one in detail. Upon the conclusion of the discussions, in the historic vote, the regulation was accepted and enacted with 467 "yes" votes, 87 "no" votes, and 7 "abstentions."
NAMES FROM AK PARTY WHO DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE VOTE
With the announcement of the voting results, the participation table in the ruling party drew attention. It was observed that 8 deputies from the AK Party group did not participate in the vote in the General Assembly. The names who did not participate in the vote were recorded as Tuğrul Türkeş, Kürşad Zorlu, İsmail Emrah Karayel, Ahmet Ersagun Yücel, Sami Çakır, Tahir Akyürek, Bülent Tüfenkçi, and Lütfi Bayraktar. TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş was another name who did not vote due to his duty carried out in accordance with the bylaws.
MOST ABSENCES FROM CHP: FOURTEEN DEPUTIES DID NOT ATTEND
The party with the highest number of absences in the vote in the General Assembly was the Republican People's Party. While fourteen deputies did not vote in the open vote, these names were listed as Mustafa Adıgüzel, Türker Ateş, İlhami Özcan Aygun, Aysu Bankoğlu, Tahsin Becan, Gülizar Biçer Karaca, Vecdi Gündoğdu, Ömer Fethi Gürer, Mehmet Güzelsmansur, Selma Aliye Kavaf, Serkan Sarı, Ahmet Baran Yazgan, Nermin Yıldırım Kara, and Nurten Yontar. In the Nationalist Movement Party, TBMM Deputy Speaker and Istanbul Deputy Celal Adan, along with Istanbul Deputy İzzet Ulvi Yönter, the former aide to Devlet Bahçeli, were among those who did not participate in the vote.
ABSENCES IN OTHER PARTIES
Deputies who did not attend the vote were also observed in other parties. Ulaş Karasu and Gamze Taşcıer were not present in the session from the New Party ranks, while İdris Şahin from the New Path Group did not participate in the vote. Independent deputies Adnan Beker, Ümit Dikbayır, who is expected to switch to AK Party in the coming days, and some deputies from DEM Party were also included in the list of those who did not vote.
DISTRIBUTION OF VOTES BY PARTY CLARIFIED
The distribution of the vote in the General Assembly by party has also been fully determined. The ruling party AK Party cast 268 yes votes, giving 9 absences. In the New Party group, 35 deputies voted yes, 54 deputies voted no, and 22 deputies did not participate in the vote. From the DEM Party group, 55 yes votes were cast, and 2 deputies did not participate in the vote. In MHP, 44 deputies voted yes, and 2 deputies did not participate in the vote.
In CHP, which participated in the vote without a group decision, 29 deputies voted yes, 2 deputies voted no, and 14 deputies did not participate in the vote. İYİ Party voted no as a bloc without any absences. From the New Path Party, there were 16 yes votes and 3 abstentions, and 1 deputy did not participate in the vote. Of the independent deputies, 7 voted yes and 1 voted no. The Hür Dava Party supported the proposal with 4 yes votes, TİP with 3 yes votes, Democratic Regions Party with 2 yes votes, Labor Party with 2 yes votes, DSP with 1 yes vote, and Saadet Party with 1 yes vote. The New Welfare Party abstained with 4 deputies, while the Democratic Party cast 1 no vote.
