In the Ceyhan district of Adana, a handgun that was allegedly discharged after falling to the ground while being taken out of a suitcase at home injured 12-year-old Melek G. in the face. Melek's maternal uncle and his wife were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
12-year-old Melek G. was injured in the face in a shooting incident at her home in the Ceyhan district of Adana. The child, who received initial treatment at Ceyhan State Hospital, was then referred to Adana City Training and Research Hospital. Her maternal uncle and his wife, who were at home during the incident, were detained. It was alleged that the gun fell to the ground and discharged while being taken out of a suitcase that had been taken down from the wardrobe.
GUNSHOT HEARD AT HOME
The incident occurred at a house in the Fatih Sultan Neighborhood of Ceyhan district. Following a report that a gunshot was heard from the house, police teams were dispatched to the address.
In the examination conducted by the teams, it was determined that 12-year-old Melek G. had been injured in the face by a handgun bullet. The child, who was taken to the hospital by relatives in a private vehicle, was transferred to Adana City Training and Research Hospital after initial treatment.
UNCLE AND HIS WIFE DETAINED
Police teams detained the child's maternal uncle and his wife, who were at home during the incident. It was alleged that the incident occurred when the handgun inside the suitcase taken down from the wardrobe fell to the ground and discharged.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
