Off the coast of the Enez district of Edirne, which has a shoreline on the Gulf of Saros, a 2.5-meter-long and 350-kilogram 'porbeagle' shark got caught in the fishermen's nets.
BROUGHT ONTO THE BOAT AFTER A 1-HOUR STRUGGLE
Fisherman Emin Hasan Topal, who set out from the Enez district coast and started fishing after advancing for a while, noticed that a large fish had gotten caught in his net. With the help of those on the boat, after a 1-hour struggle, Topal pulled out the fish caught in the net and saw that it was a 'porbeagle' shark about 2.5 meters long and weighing 350 kilograms. The shark taken onto the boat was later released back into the sea.
THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ONE THIS BIG
Emin Hasan Topal, stating that he had caught a shark of this size for the first time, said, "We barely got the shark caught in our nets onto the boat with a chain hoist. We had never seen one this big. We were surprised too. After taking it out of the nets, we released it back into the sea."
