Fuat Oktay, AK Party Ankara MP and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Foreign Affairs Committee, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the “Ankara-Based Data Center” to be established in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone in cooperation with Rönesans Holding and Digital Realty. Saying that the total investment of 4.1 billion dollars is an indication of confidence in the Turkish economy, Oktay stated that Ankara ranks first among 81 provinces in innovation.
The foundation of the data center to be established in Temelli, Ankara, has been laid. Speaking at the ceremony, Fuat Oktay stated that the investment would accelerate Turkey’s digital transformation.
“THIS INVESTMENT WILL PIONEER MUCH LARGER PROJECTS”
Emphasizing in his speech that the total investment of 4.1 billion dollars is a concrete indication of confidence in Turkey’s future, Oktay said, “This investment in Ankara is one of the clearest indicators of confidence in Turkey and the Turkish economy under our President’s leadership. We believe that this investment will pioneer much larger projects.”
“ANKARA IS ONE OF THE IMPORTANT CENTERS OF THE TURKISH ECONOMY”
Noting that Ankara is one of the important centers of the Turkish economy with its population of approximately 6 million, 14 organized industrial zones, and foreign trade volume of 35 billion dollars, Oktay said that the capital’s potential in high technology, industry, and innovation would be carried to a further level with this investment.
Arguing that Ankara is not only the administrative capital but also a leading center in high technology and innovation, Oktay noted that the concentration in Ankara of the world’s leading Turkish companies in the defense industry demonstrates the capital’s technological capacity.
“FIRST AMONG 81 PROVINCES IN INNOVATION”
Stating that 5 of the world’s top 100 defense industry companies are located in Ankara, Oktay said, “One of Ankara’s lesser-known features is that it ranks first among Turkey’s 81 provinces in innovation. This strong infrastructure and accumulation make our capital an important center for such a large-scale technology investment.”
Stating that the foundation laid in Temelli would give new momentum to Turkey’s digital transformation, Oktay expressed his belief that the investment would contribute to goals in the fields of the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and high technology.
“MAY IT BE BENEFICIAL FOR ANKARA AND TURKEY”
Thanking the management of Rönesans Holding and Digital Realty, Oktay drew attention to the importance of public institutions acting with an understanding that paves the way for private sector investments and supports technology initiatives. Oktay wished that the investment would be beneficial for Ankara and Turkey.
