Kerem Bostancıoğlu, who consumed alcohol at his home in Bebek, passed away in the hospital due to complaints of nausea and dizziness. Security teams determined that Bostancıoğlu had purchased illegal alcohol from Ivan T., who lives in the adjacent building. It was revealed that Bostancıoğlu had obtained the illegal alcohol from his aunt, Tatiana Ç. Both the aunt and the nephew, who were taken into custody, were released by the court they were brought before.
In an incident that occurred in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, according to the information obtained, Kerem Bostancıoğlu, who lived in a building on the street, was taken to a private hospital in Ulus by health teams in the evening due to complaints of nausea and dizziness.
NOT SAVED
Despite all the interventions, Bostancıoğlu could not be saved and passed away. Following the incident, the Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams initiated an investigation and learned from the doctor at the hospital that Bostancıoğlu was brought in unconscious and that his blood values were poor.
1.24 PROMILE ALCOHOL FOUND IN HIS BLOOD
Bostancıoğlu's wife, Refah Kolot B., stated in her conversation with the police that her husband frequently consumed alcohol, did not know who he was with, where he was, and what he drank last, and that there was no open or unbanded alcohol in their home, asserting that her husband did not consume illegal or counterfeit alcohol.
The next day, test results revealed that Kerem Bostancıoğlu had a methanol level of 1.24 promile in his blood. Following this, the Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams intensified their investigation and learned that Bostancıoğlu had last visited a liquor store on the street, prompting them to review the security camera footage of the establishment.
PUBLIC ORDER POLICE CAPTURED HIM
In the investigations, it was determined that Bostancıoğlu had visited the liquor store, was holding a bottle of alcohol, spoke with the cashier for a while, and left the store forgetting the bread he had bought. Shortly after, Bostancıoğlu returned to retrieve the forgotten bread and was seen leaving with the bottle of alcohol.
After viewing the footage, the police spoke with the cashier, who stated that Bostancıoğlu had told him that he had received alcohol from Moldova. Additionally, it was learned that a Moldovan person living in the adjacent building had come to the liquor store to buy packing tape and mentioned that he would send a package to his hometown.
BROUGHT ILLEGAL ALCOHOL FROM MOLDOVA
The Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams identified the person supplying the illegal alcohol as Ivan T. Ivan T. confessed to the police who came to his house that he had provided the illegal alcohol. During the interrogation, Ivan T. stated that he had obtained the illegal alcohol from his aunt Tatiana Ç., who lives in Fatih.
The police conducted a raid on his aunt's house in the Akşemsettin neighborhood and seized a total of 7 liters of unbanded illegal alcohol in 3 bottles during the search. Following the searches, Ivan T. and his aunt Tatiana Ç. were taken to the Etiler Şehit Naci Soydan Police Center along with the seized alcohol.
RELEASED
After their statements were taken and legal proceedings were initiated, the aunt and nephew were referred to the courthouse. The prosecutor's office requested the arrest of the aunt and nephew for 'violating the law on combating smuggling' related to the suspicious death. The aunt and nephew, who were brought before the court, were released.
