In Düzce, police and fire departments mobilized after a smell came from an apartment. Upon investigation, it was determined that 68-year-old retired teacher Hüseyin Taraf, who lived alone, had died in his home. The body was taken to the hospital for an autopsy.

Police and fire department teams were notified after a smell came from an apartment on the ground floor of a building on 862 Sokak in Aziziye Mahallesi.
Teams arriving at the scene initially thought the smell was a natural gas leak and cut off the building's gas supply. Later, teams determined that the smell came from the apartment of 68-year-old Hüseyin Taraf, who lived alone, and entered the home.

During the inspection, it was determined that Taraf had passed away. After the prosecutor's office investigation, Taraf's body was taken to the morgue of Düzce University Faculty of Medicine Training Research and Application Hospital to determine the exact cause of death.
It was reported that Taraf, who was learned to be a retired teacher and lived alone, was not seen after exchanging holiday greetings with neighbors on the first day of Eid.
