Thanks to security cameras, the irresponsible driver was quickly identified and received heavy penalties. The courier, who disregarded traffic safety, was fined 101,000 TL, had his license confiscated, and his motorcycle was impounded.

In the Serdivan district of Sakarya, a motorcycle courier who cut off a circumcision convoy to demand tips, causing a chain-reaction traffic accident, and then fled the scene, was caught following a police pursuit. CUT OFF THE CONVOY, FLED WITHOUT CHECKING THE ACCIDENT 

The incident occurred on July 5, Sunday, on 2nd Street in the Serdivan district. According to information obtained, motorcycle courier A.G. cut in front of a circumcision convoy moving orderly in a line, suddenly dismounted from his vehicle to ask for tips.

When the motorcyclist abruptly stopped traffic flow, the cars in the convoy behind collided with each other. In the chain-reaction accident involving three vehicles, a total of three people, including a baby, were slightly injured.

Realizing the accident occurred as he dismounted his motorcycle and walked toward a car to collect tips, courier A.G., instead of checking on the injured, got back on his motorcycle as if nothing happened and quickly fled the area. Upon reports from witnesses, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the injured were treated preventively at the scene, the dangerous moments and the courier's escape were captured second by second by security cameras in the area.

HEAVY PENALTY: LICENSE CONFISCATED, MOTORCYCLE SEIZED 

Following the incident, teams from the Sakarya Police Department launched a comprehensive investigation. Examining security cameras, police quickly identified and apprehended the motorcycle and its driver A.G., who caused the accident.

The courier, who endangered traffic, faced a barrage of fines. The driver was fined a total of 101,000 TL for offenses including arbitrarily blocking vehicles moving in a group, dangerous lane changing, and not registering modifications on the motorcycle with the vehicle registration.

LICENSE ALSO GONE

In addition to the monetary fine, driver A.G.'s license was suspended for 2 months, while the motorcycle involved in the accident was impounded for 60 days and towed to a parking lot. Legal proceedings were also initiated against the irresponsible courier under the Turkish Penal Code for the crime of "endangering traffic safety."
