The three siblings and their parents, who lost their lives when a truck loaded with iron hit their car from behind while they were waiting at a red light at the Black Sea Coastal Road port area in Giresun on Saturday night, May 23, were sent off on their final journey today in the Arsin district of Trabzon. In a statement, Arsin Konak Neighborhood Headman Orhan Yaşar Sunguroğlu said, 'If you had seen them in the morgue like I did, especially the children were shattered into pieces.'

5 PEOPLE DIED IN A CRASH INVOLVING 4 VEHICLES Around 01:45 on Saturday, May 23, a truck loaded with iron, license plate 55 K 4065, driven by M.U., traveling from Ordu towards Trabzon, rear-ended a car with license plate 34 PM 61, driven by Ali Yıldız (45), who was waiting at the lights near the Giresun Port area on the Black Sea Coastal Road with his family, traveling from Istanbul to their hometown Trabzon. The impact caused the vehicle to veer and crash into a car with license plate 34 PN 09, driven by Ferhat Yıldız (45) in front. This car, in turn, was propelled forward and crashed into a truck loaded with cars driven by Köksal Yusuf Halil (31), which was waiting at a red light. In the chain-reaction crash involving 4 vehicles, Ali Yıldız, his wife Melek Yıldız (40), their twin children Hamza Yıldız (7) and Hasan Yıldız (7), and Sadem Yağmur Yıldız (15) lost their lives, while their eldest daughter Rana Meltem Yıldız (20) was seriously injured.
6 PEOPLE WERE INJURED The truck driver M.U. (59), who caused the accident, was also seriously injured, while Ferhat Yıldız, Fatma Yıldız, Rana Yıldız, Sümeyye Yıldız (9), and Eymen Yıldız (16) were taken to hospitals in Giresun for treatment.
5-MEMBER FAMILY BURIED A funeral prayer was held today after the noon prayer in the Konak neighborhood of Trabzon's Arsin district for the 5 members of the Yıldız family who lost their lives in the accident. The funeral prayer at Konak Mosque was attended by Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin, Anahtar Party General Chairman Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Arsin District Governor Şule Demirtaş, Arsin Mayor Hamza Bilgin, as well as family members, relatives, and citizens. After the prayer, the three siblings along with their mother and father were laid to rest in the family cemetery at the same location.
"THEY DESTROYED A FAMILY" Arsin Konak Neighborhood Headman Orhan Yaşar Sunguroğlu said, "This is the family's ancestral land. They were living away from home in Istanbul. While coming to visit their elders on the eve of the holiday, an unfortunate accident happened in Giresun. 5 people lost their lives. It's a very sad event. Words cannot describe it. If you had seen them in the morgue like I did, especially the children torn apart. Drivers, those setting out on the road should be careful on the eve of the holiday. If they had seen the morgue like I did, if they had seen the state of the children, they wouldn't have stepped on the gas pedal. They put the two children together in a child's coffin, and half the coffin was empty. Where are the rest of these children? Two cousins had set out from Istanbul. The other family is still being treated in the hospital. They are not in life-threatening condition; the couple's eldest daughter has a broken back and is in intensive care. Doctors said she is not in danger. We will bury our dead; our grief is immense. People setting out on the road, drivers of large vehicles, please be careful, we beg you. They destroyed a family. This goes against both conscience and human morals. The roads are busy during the holiday; let everyone be careful, may they not cause anyone's death," he stated.
