Teams from the Traffic Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department continue radar inspections across the province for drivers not complying with speed rules. Police teams conducting inspections on the Antakya - Defne road in the Subaşı neighborhood of Defne district performed radar checks on the route with a speed limit of 80 km/h. Drivers exceeding the speed limit were fined between 2,000 TL and 12,000 TL based on the speed limits. During the inspection, six drivers were penalized for not following speed rules. Driver Servet Girgin, who received his first fine 12 years after getting his license, said, "I thought I could escape, but I got caught; I congratulate the traffic teams."
"I THOUGHT I COULD ESCAPE BUT I GOT CAUGHT"
Emphasizing the necessity of inspections, driver Servet Girgin said, "This check is absolutely necessary; it did not go unnoticed by me. I thought I could escape, but I got caught. I congratulate the traffic teams. The inspection is very important for public safety. They set up a good trap, I was caught there and fined 4,000 Turkish Lira. While the speed limit was 80, I passed at 90 kilometers per hour. Therefore, I deserve the fine. I am not sorry for getting fined, but I am sorry for exceeding the limit. I thank the traffic teams; they warned us and conducted checks. They also shake us up a bit so we come to our senses. It's good that traffic teams exist. It's been 12 years since I got my license, and this is the first time I've received a fine," he said.
