Şimşek, who removed the tick by himself, went to Tomarza State Hospital when he fell ill on Friday. Transferred from there to Kayseri City Hospital, Şimşek passed away today despite all the doctors' interventions.

Ali Şimşek's funeral was taken by his relatives to the Pusatlı neighborhood after the autopsy procedures. Şimşek was buried in the neighborhood cemetery after the funeral prayer held there.
