A new scandal has emerged at HMP Five Wells Prison in England. A 19-year-old female guard was suspended and arrested after footage of her relationship with an inmate surfaced. According to a report by The Sun, the footage, recorded last week, spread among other inmates in the prison as well as outside individuals. This is not the first scandal at the Category C prison, valued at £235 million. Previously, another female guard, Rachel Stanton, was found to have had a relationship with inmate Edwin Poole, who was convicted of armed robbery, and it was revealed that she became pregnant from this relationship. This relationship was uncovered through photographs and a love letter found in the inmate's cell. The prison, which opened in 2022 and is managed by the private security company G4S, houses approximately 1,700 male inmates. An independent inspection conducted last October identified issues such as easy access to drugs and prohibited substances, food shortages, and staff safety concerns. According to the latest report from the Independent Monitoring Board, random tests revealed that at least 25% of the inmates tested positive for drugs.
