A FIRST IN SAUDI ARABIA

TOOK THE OATH BEFORE THE MINISTER
Before starting her duties, al-Marzouki took the oath at a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Riyadh. Officials from the Foreign Ministry also attended the ceremony.
At the same ceremony, Sultan bin Faraj al-Nafel, who was appointed as the Saudi Consul General in Erbil, Iraq, also took the oath and began his new role.
Al-Marzouki's role in Houston is also considered a significant development in terms of the role of female diplomats in high-level representative positions in Saudi Arabia.
