Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the 'Alihan Kuriş Criminal Organization,' checks worth 3 million dollars were seized from a steel safe located at Kuriş's residence. It was also learned that gold and jewelry worth 27 million 548 thousand 376 Turkish Lira were found in the safe.
New details have emerged regarding the findings obtained during searches conducted in operations carried out within the scope of the investigation led by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the criminal organization of Alihan Kuris, publicly known as the "Suleymancilar," and the process of apprehending the suspects.
FORTUNE FOUND IN STEEL SAFE
It has been learned that during a search of a steel safe at Alihan Kuris's residence within the scope of the investigation, checks worth 3 million dollars and gold and jewelry valued at 27 million 548 thousand 376 TL were seized.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 49 SUSPECTS
Within the scope of the investigation, a detention order was issued for 49 suspects. While 37 suspects, including Alihan Kuris, were apprehended, it was reported that efforts to locate 3 suspects determined to be in Turkey are ongoing. It was learned that 9 suspects are abroad. Procedures for the suspects at the police department are ongoing.
KURIS CAUGHT IN HIDDEN COMPARTMENT
One of the notable details of the operation was the process of Alihan Kuris's apprehension.
According to information obtained, police teams went to Kuris's registered address after the detention order but determined he was not there. It was also detected that Kuris had left his mobile phone at home.
After determining that Kuris had moved to another address, teams conducted an operation at that address. Kuris, who was not found during initial searches, was caught in a hidden compartment detected during a detailed inspection of the house.
DOCUMENTS SHREDDED FOR DESTRUCTION FOUND
Within the scope of the investigation, a search was conducted at the 'Suleymancilar's center in Umraniye, Istanbul, following a tip that documents related to the organization and the investigation were being destroyed.
During the search carried out by teams from the Istanbul Police Department at the address, a large number of documents believed to have been shredded for destruction were found. The shredded documents, found stuffed into large garbage bags, were seized.
CLAIM OF SIMILARITY TO FETO'S METHODS
In the investigation, claims regarding the hierarchical organization of the structure, regional and district responsibilities, the commission system, closed communication methods, and its overseas structure have also been scrutinized.
Claims that personnel information in the structure was kept in a special computer program, encrypted email systems were used, and instructions were given to avoid applications such as WhatsApp and Facebook are being examined.
While it is alleged that some decisions were conveyed through individuals referred to as \"couriers,\" this form of organization is considered to bear similarities to some organizational methods previously used by FETO/PDY.
