24-year-old student Mathieu Vigier Latour, who came from France to Turkey, had a beard transplant at a clinic in Istanbul. After the operation, the young man noticed serious swelling on his face and fell into depression when the beard did not grow as he wanted. Unable to overcome the trauma, Latour committed suicide three months after the operation.
