In Istanbul Esenyurt, a fugitive convict with a finalized 20-year prison sentence and wanted for 12 separate crimes was caught by police teams and, after being taken to the detention room, attempted suicide with the drawstring of his tracksuit. The individual, taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions.

G.D., who had a finalized 20-year prison sentence and was wanted for 12 separate crimes in Istanbul's Esenyurt district, was caught by police teams.

ATTEMPTED SUICIDE WITH THE CORD OF HER SWEATPANTS IN THE DETENTION CELL

G.D. was taken to the detention cell at the police station for processing. Police teams noticed the individual harming herself using the cord of her sweatpants in the detention cell and notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.

COULD NOT BE SAVED

After the initial intervention of health teams dispatched to the scene, G.D. was taken to the hospital by ambulance but lost her life despite the doctors' efforts.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
