After parting ways with Vincenzo Montella, the search for a head coach for the Turkish national team accelerated. Initially, the name Arda Turan came to the fore, but Shakhtar Donetsk's reluctance toward both the departure and the formula of coaching the two teams together brought the process to a dead end. It was claimed that Abdullah Avcı stood out among the TFF's candidates, and that the experienced coach was ready to accept the job if an offer came.
After Vincenzo Montella's tenure with the Turkish National Football Team came to an end, attention turned to the Turkish Football Federation's (TFF) decision on a new head coach. While it was stated that the federation's priority is to reach an agreement with a domestic coach, Abdullah Avcı's name has begun to stand out among the candidates.
SHAKHTAR OBSTACLE FOR ARDA TURAN
According to a report on NTV, the TFF initially put Arda Turan, who coaches Shakhtar Donetsk, on its agenda for the head coaching position. However, no progress was made in the process because the Ukrainian team was not warm to the young coach's departure. It was stated that the federation considered a formula whereby Arda Turan would coach both Shakhtar Donetsk and the Turkish National Team, but the Ukrainian club did not accept this option either. It was expressed that claims that Arda Turan rejected the national team job do not reflect the truth, and that current conditions make reaching an agreement difficult.
ABDULLAH AVCI'S NAME COMES TO THE FOREGROUND
After the Arda Turan option weakened, it was claimed that Abdullah Avcı gained weight in the TFF's candidate list. It was stated that the experienced coach, who managed the Turkish National Team between 2011 and 2013, is warm to returning to the job. It was reported that Avcı continues his work with his coaching staff and closely follows teams and players in the Super Lig. It was expressed that the experienced coach would accept taking charge of the Turkish National Team if an official offer comes.
FATİH TEKKE AND DESCHAMPS ALSO ON THE LIST
It was stated that the priority of TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu is to entrust the national team to a Turkish head coach. Accordingly, it was claimed that Fatih Tekke, as well as Abdullah Avcı, is among the candidates. It was reported that the federation is not limited only to domestic names and is also evaluating foreign head coach options. It was stated that French coach Didier Deschamps is also among these names.
FOOTBALL DIRECTOR FORMULA FOR ŞENOL GÜNEŞ
It was claimed that, in addition to its search for a head coach, the TFF is considering making a change in the national team's structure. It was stated that the federation could revive the football director system implemented in the past, and that Şenol Güneş is being considered for this role. According to the formula in question, Şenol Güneş is planned to take on the football director role, while a domestic head coach is to be brought in to lead the Turkish National Team. However, it was stated that no official offer has yet been made to the candidates.
GOAL IS TO DETERMINE THE NEW COACH BY NOVEMBER
It was reported that because the Turkish National Team will play its next matches in November, the TFF wants to complete its head coach search in a short time. It was stated that the federation aims to finalize both the new head coach and the possible football director structure by November.
