A newborn baby girl, left in a bag at the door of a house in İzmir's Ödemiş district, was rescued after being reported by locals. It was learned that the baby, whose umbilical cord had not been cut, is in good health. Police are searching for the person or persons who left the baby.

In the Umurbey neighborhood of İzmir's Ödemiş district, on May 31, residents noticed a bag hanging on a house door and heard a baby's cry coming from inside, prompting them to notify the police.

UMBILICAL CORD NOT EVEN CUT

Upon the report, police officers arriving at the scene found a newborn baby girl wrapped in a muslin cloth inside the bag. The infant, whose umbilical cord had not yet been cut, was given first aid by the summoned medical team and then taken to Ödemiş State Hospital.

CONDITION IS GOOD

Examinations there reported that the baby's condition is good. The police have launched an investigation to determine who left the baby and to apprehend them.
