After a wedding that lasted 3 days and 3 nights in Milas, Uzbek bride Mamura Burkhonova, who was detained on claims that she disappeared with millions of lira worth of jewelry, denied the accusations against her. In her statement at the police station, the bride, who said, 'I am sorry about what happened,' claimed that she took only 20 quarter gold coins and 226 thousand lira with her, and that the main jewelry set worth 4 million lira was with her father-in-law, presenting message records to the court as evidence.
After a wedding that lasted 3 days and 3 nights in the Milas district of Muğla, the Uzbek national bride Mamura Burkhonova, who allegedly disappeared with millions of liras worth of jewelry, denied the accusations in her statement at the police station, saying, "I am sorry about what happened."
The next morning after the magnificent wedding held in Milas's Çomakdağ Kızılağaç neighborhood, it was noticed that 28-year-old Mamura Burkhonova was not at home. The groom's family stated that approximately 4 million liras worth of gold and jewelry presented at the wedding were also missing and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Acting on the instructions of the Milas Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police teams took Burkhonova into custody as a result of the investigation.
"THE OTHER GOLD IS WITH MY FATHER-IN-LAW"
Burkhonova, who stated during her questioning at the police station that she was saddened by the events, did not accept the allegations that she stole the 4 million liras worth of jewelry. The Uzbek bride, who claimed she only took 20 quarter gold coins and 226 thousand liras that belonged to her, argued that the remaining main jewelry set was under her father-in-law's control. To support this claim, Burkhonova also submitted message records she alleged were made with her father-in-law as evidence to the investigation file.
NO OTHER JEWELRY FOUND IN THE SEARCH
In the searches conducted by police teams at the address where the suspect was caught, the millions-worth of jewelry reported missing was not found. While judicial procedures for the detained bride continue, security forces are continuing the investigation in multiple directions in line with the evidence presented and the statements of the parties.
