It was reported that CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu called on his aides at the MYK meeting not to abandon a positive tone. While the aides stated, "Expulsion and liquidation are not on our agenda," they also noted that some steps could be taken depending on developments. Pointing to the harsh remarks directed at Kılıçdaroğlu as the reason, the aides said, "There won't be any action regarding all 81 provincial chairs, but Kemal Bey may use his authority to remove some individuals from duty. That is at Kemal Bey's discretion."
The Central Executive Board (MYK) of the CHP convened today under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
The agenda of the meeting, which lasted approximately three hours, included the CHP Group Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, the planned dialogue committee, the letter sent by the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) to the MYK regarding the cancellation of expulsions made after November 4-5, 2023, and the new roadmap.
“KEMAL BEY MAY USE THE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE CERTAIN NAMES FROM DUTY”
CHP aides stated that no files were sent to the YDK during the meeting and noted that the removal of provincial chairmen from duty was not discussed. Emphasizing that they are attentive to party unity and persistent in this stance, aides said, “Expulsions and liquidations are not on our agenda,” while indicating that some steps could be taken depending on developments. Citing harsh words directed at Kılıçdaroğlu as the reason, aides stated, “We need even a single person, but there are those who say very harsh words to Kemal Bey. There will be no action regarding all 81 provincial chairmen, but Kemal Bey may use the authority to remove certain names from duty. This is at Kemal Bey’s discretion.”
KILIÇDAROĞLU TO MYK MEMBERS: WE WILL NOT ABANDON POSITIVE LANGUAGE
Aides noted that Kılıçdaroğlu told the MYK members, “We will not abandon positive language,” highlighting that this statement indicates the approach to be adopted both within the party and toward voters.
“THERE IS NO OBSTACLE TO KEMAL BEY’S SPEECH AT THE GROUP MEETING”
Aides stated that Kılıçdaroğlu will speak at the CHP group meeting on Tuesday, with some deputies working on this, and regarding claims that group deputy chairmen would be removed, they said, “It was discussed, but no decision was made in this direction.” Aides noted that there are different methods for the group speech, saying, “In fact, there is no legal obstacle to Kemal Bey’s speech. We do not want confrontation. Therefore, we will engage in dialogue.”
DIALOGUE COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED
Aides stated that contact was made with the Özgür Özel front regarding the group meeting and that a dialogue committee has been formed. Aides reported that some MYK members will coordinate this committee, with the aim of further expanding it, saying, “The number and names will be announced later. The initiatives of both our three deputy colleagues and our metropolitan municipality mayors have been very positive. This move by the mayors needs to be expanded.” Aides also said that the lawyers of both sides will come together, and the legal aspects of the process will be addressed in these meetings.
Aides stated that the CHP Chairman is Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, adding, “We will not allow dual leadership in the party.”
