Manisa Super Amateur League team 7 Eylül Turgutlu 1984 Sportif Yatırımlar held its first training under 22-year-old head coach Zeynep Mestan. Mestan, who said they aim to finish first in the group and get promoted to the upper league, explained that the players treat her as they would work with a male coach and that none of them look down on her.
7 Eylül Turgutlu 1984 Sportif Yatırımlar, one of the Manisa Super Amateur League teams, held its first training session under the management of head coach Zeynep Mestan.
The red-and-black team, which planned a 6-week preparation program before the new season, focused on straight running and basic strength exercises in its first training session at Turgutlu Irlamaz Sports Valley.
In a statement before the training session, head coach Zeynep Mestan noted that they have young and talented footballers in their squad and said they plan to make a few more transfers.
Making an assessment regarding the season goals, 22-year-old Zeynep Mestan said, “As Turgutluspor, I believe we will finish first in our group and also show success in the play-offs to get promoted to the upper league. We started training today. We will gradually increase the intensity of the work.”
NONE OF THEM LOOKS DOWN ON ME
Zeynep Mestan stated that her communication with her players is positive and said, “The players’ attitudes toward me are normal. They work with me just as they would with a male coach. None of them has an attitude that belittles me or makes me feel they have a different perspective. I saw that light in all of their eyes.”

Club president Yılmaz Gençtürk also expressed that they want to increase the club’s brand value.
Stating that they set out to take the team to higher levels, Gençtürk used the phrase, “I trust Coach Zeynep completely.”
Team midfielder Sezer Taşkolu also stated that Zeynep Mestan has been preparing for a long time in line with her goals and commented, “We have the chance to chat off the field. Our coach is very dedicated. She is working and striving to figure out how we can take Turgutluspor to an upper league this season and how we can succeed. Our trust in our coach is endless.”
