2.5-year-old Melike, who went missing while following her shepherd father in the Bağlıca village of Batman's Gercüş district, was found alive after a 17-hour search operation involving approximately 500 personnel. Wrapped in a thermal blanket against the risk of hypothermia, Melike was taken to the hospital for check-ups. It was reported that the little girl's health condition is good.
In the Gercüş district of Batman, in the Bağlıca village, it was noticed yesterday around 15:00 that 2.5-year-old Melike E., who was following her father who worked as a shepherd, had gone missing.
A TEAM OF 500 SEARCHED EVERYWHERE
When the family's own search efforts yielded no results, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, gendarmerie, AFAD, health, UMKE, and Batman Search and Rescue teams were dispatched to the area. Despite the downpour and storm, a team of approximately 500 people continued search operations throughout the night.
FOUND ALIVE AND WELL 17 HOURS LATER
The search efforts yielded results 17 hours later, around 08:00 in the morning. Melike was found exhausted about 6 kilometers away from the village. Wrapped in a thermal blanket due to the risk of hypothermia, Melike was handed over to health teams by gendarmerie personnel.
HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD
After initial intervention in the village, Melike was taken to the hospital for control purposes, and it was learned that her condition is good.
